1947 Aero Flite Falcon Travel Trailer
History of Manufacturer:
Kevin Reabe is the subject matter expert on these and has written extensively. His website http://aeroflitetrailers.com is the best resource out there and has a full history of these awesome trailers. There where approximately 120 Aero Flite Trailers manufactured in 1947 and 1948. I believe under 20 are know to exist today.
Where did I find her and what work did we do:
Kevin Reabe was kind enough to refer the seller to me. He was in Massachusetts and had purchased it in California in 2010 but was unable to restore her so wanted to sell her. The trailer was completely original! It towed well. However as normal there was extensive water damage so this was a complete restoration including all wood, floors, wiring, etc. Restoration included:

The trailer was completely original! It towed well. However as normal there was extensive water damage so this was a complete restoration including all wood, floors, wiring, etc. Restoration included:
- New Floor
- New gaskets and plexiglass front and rear windows. All inside aluminum trim cleaned and polished or replaced when necessary.
- A new 5/8 copper gas line has been installed from the tank to the cook top, and new regulator.
- Pressure washed the under side of the trailer, now it's clean and under coated.
- New tires on the original old wheels.
Modifications:
Always like to keep as original as possible but the following mods took place:
- We used the outside of the original kerosene heater and hid a large electric space heater to keep the original look and feel but be safe. An indoor air conditioner was added inside one of the cabinets and vented.
- Added a bar unit inside one of the cabinets.
- Flat screen TV and Stereo.
- On demand hot water heater along with a new main water feed.
- The GFI electric feed is run to the power closet.
- Drive in speakers added to outside
- Awning Pole holder added to inside closet
- Internal partition replaced with curtain
Coolest and Worst Design Features:
Many real neat design features- my favorites:
- Windows that slide into the unit instead of out.
- Partition that comes out and separates the rear from the from to create a private bedroom
- The hand pump for sink- just awesome especially after it was polished.
- The vents which have filters and essentially act as a type of air conditioner to circulate the air.
